Goldman Sachs - 10,000 Women
The School of Finance and Banking (SFB) in collaboration with Goldman Sachs and the William Davidson Institute (WDI) offers the Goldman Sachs Business School Scholarship and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Entrepreneur Certificate Program for deserving Rwandan women.
The “Goldman Sachs Scholarships Program” is part of Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Women initiative, which will provide 10,000 women, predominantly in developing and emerging markets around the world, with a business and management education.
The scholarship program focuses on underprivileged women regardless of age, and brings business education to Rwandan women who have traditionally been denied opportunities in schooling.
Under the Goldman Sachs Business School Scholarship Program, female students applying for the SFB’s 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA) program, with demonstrable financial need and academic readiness are encouraged to apply every academic year. The award is a full scholarship for the current academic year including tuition, room and board, and books. Continuation of the scholarship for the next academic year is contingent upon satisfactory progress and availability of funds.
Since the introduction of the Scholarship at the SFB in June 2008, 45 female students have been awarded the scholarship. All scholarship recipients receive counseling and mentoring by the program manager and SFB faculty to ensure academic success.
Under the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Entrepreneur Certificate Program, 119 women (4 Cohorts) have graduated from the program. 30 women (Cohort 5) are in the program and they will graduate in January 2011. The Cohort 6 of 30 women will start the training in February 2011.
For further information about the application and registration procedures please contact the Program Manager, UZARERWA Agnes at the School of Finance and Banking.
