SFB STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP
In its continued efforts to remain one of the most valued institutions of higher learning in the country, the management of the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) has embarked and will continue to revise and overhaul its existing operational systems in order to remain on top of the rest. This has been evidenced by a three day SFB Strategic Planning Workshop that took place from 7th - 9th June, 2010 within and outside the school’s premises. The workshop involved both academic and none academic staff who were facilitated by Ernst and Young. During the workshop, the participants deliberated on several strategic issues that included School’s Vision and Mission, Culture and Values, Products and Curriculum, Funding and Infrastructure without forgetting the Human Capital Development as this is the most important resource that puts all other resources to use in any given organization, be it small or big, private or public. The SFB community and all the stakeholders at large will benefit from the recently concluded strategic planning workshop by realizing strategic issues such as; staff development and retention, quality teaching and learning and having in place a market oriented curriculum. Furthermore, the school will strengthen its research and dissemination activities to higher levels and will establish strategic partnerships and networking with the outside world. The school will also embark on student support programs and expansion of the whole institution in terms of infrastructure and academic programs at large. Everybody is therefore waiting to see positive changes happen on the ground.
